When a manufacturer or supplier chooses to have its’ products
listed on the SA Watermark register, an application must be submitted to the SA
Watermark. Initially this application will be paper based. A cloud based electronic
application system is being developed and will be implemented shortly.

All applications must include all relevant product details,
test reports or certification certificates.

The data will be verified for authenticity and accuracy.

Depending on the data submitted and the selected star rating,
an audit might be performed on the production facility irrespective of the

The results of all audits will then be verified by an
independent team that was not party to any of the verification process. If a
quorum of this team confirmed acceptance of the reports, then the products will
be added to the SA Watermark register.
